Hannah Lynne Milojevich, Owner of Beauty Bar Boutique Salon and Beauty Bar Lash + Brow Studio

1. What is your full name, title, and the name of your business?
Hannah Lynne (Milojevich, but clearly don’t use my last name for reasons of complexity, lol) – Owner of Beauty Bar Boutique Salon and Beauty Bar Lash + Brow Studio.

2. What is the background story of your business? What was it that inspired you to start it?
Interesting timing for this interview, because the salon was opened the day our nation announced a Recession in 2008. The salon grew and thrived thanks to the leadership of founder Roxanne Bigoness, and her original team. I joined the team as a hairstylist in 2012 after moving back from in-depth training of haircutting & runway styling in NYC. I took over as Salon Owner in 2014 and since then have focused on creating strong salon culture through high levels of education for our team and consistent excellence in customer service for our guests!

3. What does your business specialize in?
Women’s haircuts are the highest number of services we perform (20% being men’s cuts), and immediately following is beautiful, classic hair color!

4. What brings you the greatest joy in managing/owning this business?
My joy stems from cultivating leadership in our team members, and their ownership in the brand and how each takes pride over our reputation as a collective! Paired with that is the amazing relationships created with clients who have supported the salon through its journey with several being there longer than I ever have!

5. What’s one fun fact about your business that most people don’t know about?
We are a team of jokesters, and I personally love April Fool’s Day! One year I hired an actress to come in and act as a State Inspector reprimanding stylists for cosmetology violations… 🙂 🙂

6. Why do you believe it’s important to shop local?
Thankfully, you can only do hair services localized! However, the haircare brands we sell on our shelves are intentionally selected, because they directly support our salon/team by offering exclusive education opportunities and marketing support. Those retail sales overall are our “budget bucket” for the team’s travel to NYC studios for advanced classes & training! So prescribing customized home care for our clients through hair products is an essential part of our business!
